JJFUMA respects reader privacy. This policy explains the information JJFUMA may collect, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide

When you create an account, JJFUMA may collect your name, display name, email address, profile image, and account credentials. Passwords are stored in protected hashed form, not as readable passwords. If you subscribe to the newsletter, JJFUMA stores the name and email address you submit. If you use the contact form, JJFUMA stores the information in your message so it can be answered.

Reading information

For signed-in readers, JJFUMA may store information needed to provide features such as My Library, favourites, reading progress, private notes, interactive story journeys, and story discussions. Private notes are intended to be visible only to the reader who created them.

Cookies and sessions

JJFUMA uses essential session technology to keep signed-in readers and administrators authenticated. These technologies are used to operate the service and protect accounts.

How information is used

Information is used to operate reader accounts, remember reading activity, deliver requested features, manage newsletter subscriptions, respond to inquiries, protect the service, and improve JJFUMA.

Sharing and service providers

JJFUMA does not sell reader personal information. Information may be processed by infrastructure and service providers that are necessary to host, secure, deliver, or operate the website. As additional payment or email providers are introduced, this policy will be updated where appropriate.

Newsletter choices

You may unsubscribe from JJFUMA newsletter communications. An unsubscribe request changes the subscription status so the address is not intentionally included in future newsletter sends.

Retention and deletion

Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, meet legal or security needs, or maintain subscription preferences. Readers may contact JJFUMA with privacy or account questions through the Contact page.

Story submissions

If you submit a True Stories or After Dark story, JJFUMA may collect the contact information, story text or story summary, topics, identity preference, handling preference, publication acknowledgements, and any audio recording you choose to upload. Text submissions are available without an account. Audio uploads are available only to signed-in readers with a verified JJFUMA account. Your private email address, phone number and other private contact information will not be publicly displayed. Publication permissions are governed by the submission form and the Story Submission Terms.

Uploaded audio is stored privately in JJFUMA's media storage and is accessible to JJFUMA Admin for review. JJFUMA Admin may permanently delete the audio file when it is no longer needed; the related submission and consent record may still be retained for administration, security and permission records. Paid Talk With JJFUMA bookings are separate from story submissions.

JJFUMA uses Cloudflare Turnstile on submission forms to help distinguish human visitors from automated spam. Turnstile may process limited technical information needed to perform that security check.

Changes

This policy may be updated as JJFUMA adds new features, services, payment options, or legal requirements. The updated date will be revised when material changes are made.
